I need help coming up with a marketing plan for college. It’s due on 04-22-2009. If their is anyone out there that can help me please respond to me. Thanks in Advance.
Your effective marketing plan would consist of identifying your target audience. Then learn about the product or service that you are selling so that you can spot its strengths and weaknesses compared to the competition. Then figure out just how much money you have to spend.
Then decide where to spend the money: television, radio, magazines, newspapers, online, flyers.
Then you do it.
Lastly, you analyze the sales results to see if the "plan" worked or not. The best way is to imagine that you have just invented a new "thing" and you want to get it noticed. What would you do. That is your "plan".
There is a new book titled "The New Rules of Marketing and PR." I know you don’t have time to order it and read all of the details. I will give you a recap. It says that the old marketing methodologies are dead and that everything is shifting to the web. Forget about TV ads, magazines and newspapers, etc. An effective marketing campaign should be carried out through a number of Internet outlets, including:
social networking (myspace, facebook etc)
1) forums
2) blogs
3) wikis
4) press releases
5) search engine optimization
6) content and keyword rich web sites
7) podcasts
9) video (youtubbe)
those are the main outlets covered in the book. Even if your teacher disagrees, you can make a good argument for the decline of newspapers, TV viewership, CDs.
Hope my advice gets you an "A"
